Zac Efron (Firefly) will star in and executive produce a TV remake of the 1987 movie starring Mickey Rourke. The TV series will be based on William Hjortsberg’s novel Fallen Angel and the sequel Angel’s Inferno and follows the story of a paparazzi hired to find a missing woman. His investigation undercovers a group of powerful elites and supernatural entities involved in the disappearance.

The film will be produced by A24 and HBO, with Zach Baylin writing and executive producing.
